A practical starting point
Check desk size and monitor-arm clamp clearance
Check desk and monitor-arm dimensions, underside obstructions and room space. See measured conflicts and unknowns without mistaking fit for safety.

A practical way forward
Measure the actual usable space
Record room width, doors, outlets and the route for delivery. Allow space for the chair, drawers and cables, not just the desktop footprint.Map everything that sits on the desk
Measure the monitor base, keyboard and other equipment. For an arm, check the desktop material and thickness, clamp contact area, underside rails, rear swing and cables. A compatible clamp thickness alone does not prove a fit.Check one measured condition at a time
Open the desk-fit checker and copy measurements from your exact desk and arm documentation. Leave unknown values blank. Review each inequality rather than relying on a single fit label, and verify material, load and mounting instructions separately.Check the complete configuration
Verify the chosen top and frame dimensions, supported load, assembly requirements and return process. For a moving desk, check cable slack and clearances through its travel.

A width pass can still be a depth failure
Synthetic layout: a 140 × 70 cm desktop fits within a 160 cm-wide nook, but the complete setup needs more depth than the room has.
Input or setup
Usable space: 160 cm wide × 115 cm deep
Desktop: 140 × 70 cm
Assumed rear gap: 10 cm
Assumed chair movement: 55 cm
Result or expected output
Side room: 160 − 140 = 20 cm total
Required depth: 10 + 70 + 55 = 135 cm
Depth deficit: 135 − 115 = 20 cm
- The chair and rear-gap values are invented inputs, not accessibility standards or recommended minima. Substitute your measurements and applicable access requirements.
- A 25 mm top fitting a clamp range of 10–50 mm still fails if a frame rail blocks the lower contact plate.
Keep in mind
- Manufacturer dimensions apply to specific configurations; check the exact top and frame combination.
- No desk is guaranteed to fit from room width alone, and this page makes no health-outcome claim.
- The dimension checker does not verify desktop structure, material suitability, load ratings, mounting hardware or installation. Glass or hollow tops are not approved merely because their thickness meets a clamp range.
