A practical starting point

Understand a difficult concept in plain language

Turn an unfamiliar concept into a clearer explanation, ask for a concrete example, and check important details against the original material.

3 steps to get startedSources reviewed
The explanation tool can draft an explanation at different levels for a concept you describe. Use it as a learning aid alongside the original material, not as a source-verified document reader.

Useful starting points

Tools and resources you can explore today. External services have their own terms and availability.

A practical way forward

  1. Name the exact confusion

Write the concept and the part that feels unclear. Add a short, non-sensitive excerpt if it is necessary, rather than pasting an entire private document.
  2. Choose an explanation level

Start with a plain-language explanation, then ask for one concrete example and how it maps to the original terminology.
  3. Check what the analogy leaves out

Return to the source and verify definitions, assumptions and exceptions. Write a one-sentence explanation in your own words to test your understanding.

Keep in mind

  • AI-generated explanations may contain factual errors or oversimplifications.
  • AI inputs are sent to a model service; omit confidential or personal material.

Sources, not guesswork

  • Write for the reader Official guide

Audience-first writing guidance, not evidence that an AI explanation is factually correct.
